What happens, in 3 steps
- Test it first. Import the workflow, add Gmail and an AI key, and click run. Test mode uses 6 sample emails, so you see the drafts and the summary before it reads your inbox.
- Run it on your inbox. Switch test mode off. It finds threads where someone asked about your work and nobody replied, skips newsletters and robots, and flags anything that looks like a scam.
- Review and send. Each catch-up draft sits in its original Gmail thread. A summary lists every draft, plus the emails to read yourself. You edit and send the ones you want.
What it looks like
These are generated illustrations, not screenshots of a customer's inbox. The draft is a made-up example; yours depend on your emails and settings.
What it never does
- Never sends email. The only Gmail action is "create draft".
- Never promises prices, discounts or dates. Those become [CONFIRM: ...] placeholders, and risky drafts get a CHECK line you delete before sending.
- Never follows instructions hidden in an email. Messages that try to steer the AI never reach it. They're listed for you instead.
- Never drafts replies to scam bait. Bank detail changes, wire transfers, gift cards and password requests are flagged for you to read.
- Never invents excuses. The apology is short and honest. No made-up travel, illness or email problems.
- Never adds another app. It runs in your own n8n with your Gmail and the AI provider you choose. No sheet, no database.

FAQ
Does it send emails?
No. It only saves Gmail drafts. You read and send each one yourself.
What do I need?
n8n (Cloud or self-hosted), a Gmail or Google Workspace account, and an API key for OpenAI or another OpenAI-compatible provider (OpenRouter, Groq or Gemini).
How long does setup take?
About 10 minutes: import one workflow, add two credentials, fill in a few plain-English fields, and run it in test mode first.
Will it read my whole inbox?
It reads recent mail inside the window you choose (7 to 30 days) and skips promotions, social, newsletters and automated mail. Only emails that pass screening go to your AI provider. In test mode it doesn't read your inbox at all.
What if I already replied?
Threads where you replied after their last message are skipped, and so are threads that already have a draft. You can run it again safely.
